This policy explains what Phoenix Exteriors collects through this website, why, and who it goes to. It covers this site only — not what happens after you become a customer and we are working on your home.

Information you give us
Two forms on this site send us information, and both are optional — you can read every page without filling in either.
The estimate request (/quote/) asks about your project before it asks about you: the type of work, your roof's material and rough age, the problem you are seeing, whether a storm was involved and whether you have filed an insurance claim, the scope of any gutter, siding, or window work, how many stories the building has, the property type, your timeline, and the city the property is in. You may also attach photos. At the end it asks for your name, phone number, and — optionally — your email address.
The contact form (/contact/) asks for your name, email address, phone number, and message.
We use this to prepare an estimate and to contact you about it. We do not sell it.
Information collected automatically
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and how they arrive. It records things like pages viewed, approximate location, browser, and device — not your name.
Session recording
We use PostHog to record how the site is actually used — which questions people reach in the estimate form, where they stop, and which parts of a page they tap. This includes a replay of your visit: the pages you moved through, where you scrolled, and where you clicked.
Everything you type is hidden from these recordings. Text you enter into any field — your name, email address, phone number, and the details of your property — is masked before the recording leaves your browser, so a replay shows that a field was filled in but never what was put in it. We use this to find the parts of the form that are confusing or broken, not to read submissions; the submission itself reaches us by email, as described above.
Advertising measurement
We use the Meta Pixel so that if we run ads on Facebook or Instagram, we can tell whether they actually produce estimate requests rather than just clicks.
When you submit the estimate form, our server also reports that conversion directly to Meta. The personal details in that report are cryptographically hashed before they are sent — your email address, phone number, name, and city are converted into irreversible fingerprints so Meta can match the conversion to an ad without receiving the underlying values. Your IP address and browser user-agent are sent unhashed, as Meta requires.
Where you came from
When you arrive from an ad or a tagged link, your browser stores the campaign information from that link — the advertising click identifier and any campaign tags, along with the page you landed on, the site that referred you, and the time you arrived. It stays in your browser for 90 days and is attached to your submission if you request an estimate.
This is how we tell which advertising is worth paying for. It is stored in your own browser and is removed automatically after 90 days, or immediately if you clear your browsing data.
We also store your light/dark theme preference in your browser. That never leaves your device.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run this site:
- Vercel — hosts the website and processes form submissions.
- Resend — delivers the notification email carrying your request.
- Google — analytics, and advertising measurement if we advertise.
- PostHog — usage analytics and session recordings, with everything you type masked.
- Meta — advertising measurement, as described above, with personal details hashed.
- A hosted database — we keep a record of estimate requests so we can tell which advertising produced real work. An inbox cannot answer that question.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
Campaign information in your browser expires after 90 days. Estimate requests and the correspondence around them we keep as ordinary business records — we need them to stand behind work we have done and to meet tax and insurance obligations. Analytics data is retained on Google's schedule.
Your choices
- Ask us what we hold, or to delete it. Email support@phxexteriors.com and we will respond. We may need to keep records tied to work we have actually performed.
- Turn off analytics. Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Opt out of session recording. PostHog honours your browser's "Do Not Track" setting; with it enabled we record nothing. Blocking or clearing site storage, below, has the same effect.
- Adjust Meta ad settings. Facebook and Instagram ad preferences are controlled in your Meta account settings.
- Block or clear storage. Your browser can block these technologies or clear what is stored. The site works without them; you will simply reach us as an untracked visitor.
Children
This site is for homeowners arranging work on a property. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and the date above.
